For XR, extra large is exactly right – and they handle everything else too
Running up to eight trains a week — and aiming for three daily shuttles — XR Solutions is scaling fast at Skaraborg Logistics Center. Automation, sustainable logistics, and tight collaboration with Jula Logistics make them a key player in both imports and exports.

XR Solutions has supported the business community in Skaraborg with logistics solutions for nearly a century. Together with Jula Logistics, they operate out of the Skaraborg Logistics Center.
- We currently run eight trains per week—up to 500 meters long—with double departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, plus one departure on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have room to grow, and our long-term goal is three daily shuttles, says Adam Trawber, Business Area Manager.
Their partnership with Jula Logistics works seamlessly. Each company focuses on its niche—XR runs wagonload trains, Jula handles containers—but they also back each other up when needed.
- The most important thing is that the customer feels like they’re dealing with ‘one Falköping’ and gets the best service,” says Adam Trawber.
Traditionally focused on the automotive industry, XR Solutions is now seeing growing demand from the forest sector—especially for the export of paper rolls, pulp, and timber.
-We specialize in everything large, wide, and heavy. We can handle all types of material, he says.
Their import cargo, by contrast, mainly includes automotive components and food products. And the fact that XR Solutions can offer direct rail connections to and from the Port of Gothenburg is a strong selling point.
With charging stations in Falköping, Skövde, and Mariestad, the company ensures that road transport also supports sustainable logistics.
Many of XR’s customers are discovering that the company offers more than fast, cost-effective rail transport. The availability of warehouse space and lower leasing costs in the region make Falköping attractive for relocation. To meet growing demand, XR is investing in automation—like a Simec Paper Roll Loader that loads a container at the push of a button.
- It’s improved efficiency by 50% while making the work environment safer, says Trawber.
And there’s more to come:
- We’re looking at automation solutions to unload trains and move goods directly into the warehouse. More shipments and faster handling are a must.
- Customers want more capacity—especially export capacity. I don’t feel there’s a ceiling right now, so it’s about maximizing rail transport through new solutions.
While some challenges remain beyond their control, XR tackles them through strong collaboration with Jula Logistics and the Port of Gothenburg.
- Our common goal is seamless transport—from the moment goods are loaded until the train reaches the Port of Gothenburg,” says Trawber.
