Karin Genemo started her position as Business Development Director at Liquid Wind in September 2024, focusing on expanding Liquid Wind’s eFuel facility concept into new markets beyond the Nordic region.

Previously, she served as Division Manager at two engineering companies, first at Semcon and later at COWI.

James Varkey

James Varkey has been CFO at the Swedish shoe company Icebug for over ten years. Around the same time he started at the company, large-scale internal sustainability work began - work that is shaping the company, and James. Icebug is constantly exploring ways to  reduce its impact. In 2024, around 40% of sea freight was covered by a biofuel solution, and from 2025 this method will be used for all sea transport.

Mathias Johansson has been the CEO of Svitzer in Scandinavia and Germany for 3.5 years. He was formerly the CEO of Interterminnals Sweden for 6 years before that. A total of 20 years in harbor operations.

Niklas Bengtsson

Niklas Bengtsson is director and partner at maritime-insight. Niklas is responsible for many of the day-to-day operations including running the shipbuilding and shipping forecast models. Niklas has spoken on numerous conferences and other top level meetings over the past years.

The fleet and new ship ordering forecasts are used by leading industries and class societies. Niklas co-founded the Lloyd’s Register-Fairplay (later IHS) research unit. Niklas has 30 years of experience of official and consultancy studies. Niklas holds a master of science in economics and a Bachelor of science in business Administration and Economics, Specialization Finance.

Sabas Martinez
General Manager @ NYK Energy Transport (Atlantic)

Sabas is General Manager at NYK Energy Transport (Atlantic), in charge of green business development, supporting NYK’s projects and initiatives on green energy and maritime shipping decarbonisation.

Industrial engineer by Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, specializing in energy resources, he has developed an extensive career in the energy sector, with particular focus on natural gas and LNG, since joining energy utility Naturgy, in 1998 as business developer. In 2002, he moved to ENGIE Group as Head of Marketing and Sales in Spain. Within ENGIE, he subsequently held various positions in the LNG and upstream oil&gas business units, in France and abroad, with responsibilities in marketing and sales, contract management, LNG bunkering activities. In 2021, he joined NYK Group.

Captain Sameer Bhatnagar
Fuel Transition and infrastructure Lead @ A.P. Møller Maersk A/S

With over a decade of experience at Maersk and prior roles at Pacific International Lines, Capt Sameer Bhatnagar is a seasoned maritime professional specializing in decarbonization, marine operations, and strategic planning. His expertise spans green fuel transition, vessel optimization, bunker management, and network strategy. He has also spearheaded Maersk's decarbonization roadmap, established a task force for ammonia as a marine fuel, and driven significant cost savings through various initiatives.

He is currently employed in the capacity of a Fuel Transition and infrastructure Lead where he is primarily working on activities related to the logistics and bunkering for alternative fuels to vessels.

Henrik is responsible for implementation of the green strategy in Höegh Autoliners, bunker purchasing team and sourcing of alternative/green fuels. He has more than twelve years’ experience in Höegh and has held both commercial and technical positions.

Jenny has over 15 years of experience in the maritime industry, with 10 years at Stena Oil. She began in operations before transitioning to bunker trading, with a growing focus on biofuels. Jenny is dedicated to exploring customer needs and the ever evolving innovation in both traditional and sustainable energy solutions for the shipping industry.

Patrik Hermansson
Head of Business Development Nordics @ Uniper

Patrik Hermansson, Head of Business Devleopment, is responsible for Uniper's growth businesses in the Nordics; e-fuels for shipping and wind & solar power production. Uniper is Swedens second largest power producer, 20 TWh, with hydro and nuclear power production. Uniper is also providing the Swedish strategic power reserve as well as the disturbance reserve.

Johannes Schürmann
Commercial Director, International Marine

Johannes, started in GoodFuels in 2019 where he was closely involved in the introduction of biofuels in shipping. Once GoodFuels became part of the FincoEnergies, he became the Commercial Director of the FincoEnergies bunker division.

Today, FincoEnergies is one of the main marine biofuel suppliers in the ARA region offering multiple grades of 100% biofuels and blends with the full range of fossil fuels. FincoEnergies is dedicated to supporting customers in optimizing the value of biofuel consumption via their Scope 3 business (GoodShipping) and FuelEU Maritime Pooling proposition.
